Join Lynda-June Coe to yarn about land rights in NSW and the road ahead

This important discussion will be facilitated by Jarin Ingram-Baigent, a proud Wiradjuri woman from the Ingram/Simpson families of Erambie (Cowra), with lifelong connections to the Redfern and Western Sydney Aboriginal communities. Jarin is the CEO of Wyanga Aboriginal Aged Care, Chairperson of the Redfern Aboriginal Community Alliance, and founder of Trading Blak and Jarin Street, leading initiatives that strengthen Aboriginal community, economic empowerment, business development and self-determination.
Joining Jarin on the panel will be:

Lynda-June Coe, a proud Wiradjuri and Badu Island woman, activist, academic, PhD candidate, and the Greens candidate for the NSW Legislative Council at the 2027 NSW State Election.

Tony McAvoy SC, a Wirdi man from Central Queensland and Australia's first First Nations Senior Counsel. With more than four decades of legal experience, Tony has been at the forefront of advocacy on native title, land rights, treaty, truth-telling, human rights, environmental law and justice for First Nations peoples.

Dr Raymond Kelly, a proud Dhanggati and Gumbaynggirr man and Chairperson of the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council, the peak representative body for the Aboriginal Land Rights network in New South Wales.

Naomi Moran, a Nyangbal and Arakwal woman from the Bundjalung nation in northern NSW, and has direct bloodlines to the Dunghutti nation on the mid-north coast of NSW and the Treaty Commissioner for NSW.

This panel event will provide an opportunity to hear directly from leading voices on the history, achievements and future of land rights in New South Wales, and to reflect on what the next chapter of justice and self-determination must look like.

As we mark 50 Years of Deadly, we honour those who fought for the rights we have today and recommit ourselves to the work still ahead.
