Why we hand out flyers at shopping centres

The primary benefit is visibility. Hundreds of people see your campaign setup, creating name recognition for your candidate and showing voters that you're active in the community. This matters even for people who don't stop to chat - they're registering that you exist and care enough to show up.

For those who do engage, you get quality conversations in a relaxed environment. These interactions let you practice persuasive messaging, recruit volunteers and corflute hosts, and invite people to events.

Meeting voters at shopping centres is excellent for gathering intelligence about voter priorities. Interactive elements like issue boards show you what people care about, helping inform your broader campaign messaging and policy focus.

From a practical standpoint, they're cost-effective. Your volunteers gain confidence talking politics, and you get great photos and social media content that shows genuine community engagement.
